RINGWOOD PHILATELIC SOCIETY

The Ringwood Philatelic Society is based at the Greyfriars
Community Centre, Christchurch Road, Ringwood and meets on the second Tuesday in
every month except August. Our Meetings start at 7.30pm and generally end before
10.00pm.
The Society was started in 1967 by a group of enthusiastic
Stamp collectors who had stopped at the Crown Inn in Ringwood for a drink one
evening in the summer and the rest is history. Our meetings consist of visitor's
displays, member's displays, bring and buy, Member's evenings when we just chat,
buy and sell our wares and competition evenings. We also hold our very own
Annual Stamp and Postcard Fair on the first Saturday in June of each year. This
event is now a highlight for the year as it is twinned with Stanley Gibbons Open
Day at their warehouses literally five minutes walk away on the Parkside
Industrial Estate. Stanley Gibbons are the well known Philatelists and
Publishers who support our efforts each year with donations for the Fair raffle
and widespread publicity throughout the year.
