Alex Fanos, Danny Cracknell, David Hughes and Katherine Fleckney.
Ringwood's new mayor Danny Cracknell performed his first public duty this week, when he
signed the giant birthday card to the Queen Mother at the Meeting House Restaurant where
it is on display until August 3rd for the people of Ringwood to add their signatures and
good wishes. The card can be signed at the restaurant between 930a.m and 2p.m by the
general public.
Representing the children of Ringwood dressed in costumes from a hundred years ago, are
five year olds Katherine Fleckney from Avon Castle and Alex Fanos from Hightown. Both
children attend Ringwood Infants school.
Already dozens of people have signed the giant card, which shows Ringwood Church, the
Jubilee lamp and scenes representing aspects of the Queen Mother's life. The card was
designed by Weymouth artist Ricky Liles who also painted the pictures of faraway places on
the walls of the Meeting House Restaurant.
Said Danny Cracknell "I am very glad to do this. I think Ringwood should show
their appreciation of a wonderful women, and I'm delighted she will be getting a birthday
card from us all."
Restaurant owner David Hughes will take the card to Clarence House on her Birthday
August 4th. A copy of the card will be on display at NFDC offices in Ringwood.
