A total of 214 people attended the Stamp and Postcard Fair at Greyfriars, organised by Ringwood Philatelic Society. The fair started at 10am, with many keen collectors coming from Ferndown, Poole, West Moors and even Salisbury, Southampton and Romsey. Those we spoke to were very pleased with their purchases.

Chairman Colin Mount was seen to be enjoying himself with the company of fellow collectors, having seen the energy he put into it in the last few months he deserved to relax. Colin's wife Margaret assisted by Ann Hickman organised the refreshments and kept pouring those teas and serving up bacon rolls. They can be seen above at the end of the day before they began the task of cleaning up.

Dealers attending the fair were: Bill Pipe of Magpie (Poole), Rod Baker (Southampton), Michael Hale, PTS (Midsomer Norton), Tim Stephens of Emsworth Philatelics (Emsworth), Mervyn Lavender (Southampton), Jim Paterson of Splendid Stamps (Dibden Purlieu), Derek Fulluck (Devizes), Barry Phillips, Jack Davey, Wayne Robbins and Bob McDonald.

The Committee will discuss the idea of staging another fair at the same time next year. We wish them success and our thanks to Colin Mount for keeping us posted (no pun intended!).
